  1. Hello. I live in the United States and I have found my grandfather’s identification booklet he had during the hungarian war. Unfortunately I do not read the language. I have his name, when he was born, birthplace. I also know he was in the artillery. I would like to know what the booklet says so I could find out more information. I was hoping you could help in some way. Also he was in the military in 1896. Thank you

what records are stored in the archives. We are looking for the records for my husbands family who were all married and baptized at Sarlo’s-Boldogasszony Church in Gyongos, Heves, Hungary. Are these still located in the church records or have they been transferred to the Archives. The records date from 1790 to 1879 for baptism and marriage. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

  3. Hello,

I am reasearching Janos Hunyadi, The White Knight, and I am looking for information specifically about the ceremony in which he was invested within Emperor Sigismund’s knightly order called the “Order of the Dragon”. I understand that your archives may not include documentation of such events; but I would be grateful if you could direct me to an organization or person who can provide the information I require.

    Thanks!

  4. Dear Sir / Madam,

On behalf of my client, Mrs. Elizabeth Toth Terez, from Hungarian nationality), is born in Budapest (I think in the district Budafok) in the year 1927. We don’t know her birth date exactly and we have to know that. Probably the birth date is 24 November 1927, but I’m not sure.

Her father is Gyula Toth and her mother is Maria Toth.

May you please check the Budapest city archives and inform me about her birth date?

I’m waiting on your reaction with interest.

    Thank you in advance.
