Embark on a scenic stroll through the charming Buda Castle District, where you’ll discover stunning vistas from the iconic lookout point, the Fisherman’s Bastion (entry to lower terraces) and where you’ll walk around the fascinating Matthias Church to marvel at its historical towers and hand painted roof tiles. As there are many hidden gems around every corner in the Castle District, please note that this tour only touches upon the hilltop sights in a quick taster visit. Having taken a look at the awe-inspiring panoramic views of the city you will explore the rest of the city of Budapest, the amazing city central attractions, including the amazing Great Market Hall, the two majestic churches in Budapest, the Basilica and the Synagogue buildings, the recently restored 19th century Hungarian Opera House and Ballet Institute, the scenic Andrassy Avenue connecting the City Park with the Heroes’ Square to the city centre. There are over two dozens fascinating attractions included in a well paced, conveniently balanced walking and bus tour which is suitable for almost all ages, including younger children and senior citizens with more limited mobility (you can stay in the bus or close to the bus if the walking component is challenging).
Are things open? What are COVID restrictions coming from United States?
Hello Debbie,
yes, the Castle district is open and accepts visitors. We recommend you make your booking once your travel has been confirmed. I hope I could help.
Hello,
Am I able to book a tour for 1-person? It seems the minimum to book is two-people. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello Kristin,
Unfortunately, the Buda Castle District Tour & City Bus Tour with Parliament Guided Tour is not available at this season.
Let me recommend the CASTLE District Tour & Funicular & Cruise which can be booked privately for 1 guest only:

Hello
Can you use cable car just to get up to the castle, rather than book tours please.
If so, what is cost and can you book in advance please.
Kind regards
Hello Janet,
Yes, you might buy Funicular tickets and use only the Funicular to get to the castle area.
Tickets are available for HUF 3000 (both ways ride).
Have a lovely time at Buda Castle!
