Children in the Hungarian National Gallery

Are children welcome at the Hungarian National Gallery? Will they be bored to death among the 19th century Hungarian paintings and the medieval fine art remnants in the gallery? We hope not.

Groups of students and children (from kindergarten onwards) can request special kid friendly guided tours in the Hungarian National Gallery. Please contact them via email here: www.mng.hu/oktatas to book a tour in the gallery (Magyar Nemzeti Galleria).

In this video – uploaded by the official user of the Hungarian National Gallery on youtube – you can see that kids can enjoy interpreting fine art works, can draw and paint, can be quizzed about what they see and how our visual ways of thinking are wired with us as we grew up in our given human society.
