According to the recently published plans, the onetime Riding Hall and Stables of Buda Castle will be rebuilt in the following few years.
History of the Stables
The original Stables of the Royal Palace was built at the outer area of the western walls of the Castle, in 1899. The ornated building of the riding hall got several shots during a siege in the 2nd World War, and the stables were demolished.
The Plans
The new area of the riding hall – apart from their original purpose – will also operate as an event venue, hosting balls, art fairs and festivals. The stables will be able to accommodate up to 16 horses at a time.
