The Budapest Castle and City Centre Segway Tour starts with a Segway tutorial / training session. Your experienced tour guide will help you get the basics of the user friendly two wheeler Segway to safely control it before the actual Segway tour begins. Once you get the hang of how to control Segway, your group will set off to explore the heart of Budapest, the Downtown on the Pest side, where the historical centre of the city lies. By crossing the scenic Chain Bridge, you will get to the foot of the Buda hills, where the Funicular stop is next to the Tunnel under the Buda Castle hill. By rolling up to a part of the hillside, you can marvel at some of the Castle District attractions (Segways are not allowed inside the residential Castle District, so Castle sights will be seen from a safe distance).

Note: Segways in Budapest and the Buda Castle District
The Segway Tour provides plenty of photo opportunities, and offers many interesting stories about Budapest. Kindly note that due to traffic restrictions in the Buda Castle District, Segways are also only allowed to be used on limited parts of the hilltop. Therefore, the Segway Tours will only visit the Castle hillside where the zone restrictions are not applicable to Segways (although some photos may suggest that Segways still go up to the Palace area, these are photos of the past).
- If you would prefer to book a convenient vehicle inside the Buda Castle District you may opt to use the public transport options (bus, mini bus) or the open air (hop on hop off) Castle Tourist Bus, which all make getting around the Castle District a breeze. Segways are easy to learn and fun to explore the century old historical and residential districts of Budapest with its numerous squares and streets but are not leading you inside the Castle District.

Is there a Segway tour for 2 people at 10am this Friday (14th October) please …
Hello Andy,
Segways have been forbidden in the Castle District since 2019 unfortunately. At the moment there are no available Segway tours at the Castle District and it is unlikely that they will return due to safety concerns. That said, there are some bike tours that also include a section of the Buda Castle District.
We recommend you take a different tour package, or contact us via email for further details about the cycling tour route.
